5 Day Mount Kenya Backpackers Safari a 5 days adventure in Kenya giving you the possibility to explore the beautiful Kenyan nature. Your adventure starts and ends in Nairobi with possible extension to Mombasa. You will be visiting different wildlife destinations including Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha through to Mount Kenya.
Day 1: Nairobi – Lake Nakuru
Depart Nairobi for Lake Nakuru National Park arriving in time for check-in and lunch at Flamino Hill Tented Safari Camp. The camp is small and exclusive, comprising 25 tents. The tents are furnished with the understated luxury required by the modern traveller. Decorated in calming safari tones, natural woods, wrought iron and crisp cottons each tent has been meticulously planned to maximise comfort. Afternoon game drive along the shores of the lake watching millions of flamingos and other birds. You also have the chance to spot other game including the black and white rhinos. Mount Kenya Backpackers Safari Dinner and overnight at the camp.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru – Lake Naivasha
Early breakfast and depart for Lake Naivasha arriving in time for check-in and lunch at lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge. Relax untill 3:30 pm where you will have an optional boat ride or birds nature walk.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha – Mount Kenya
After breakfast depart for Mount Kenya National park with lunch en route arriving in the late afternoon at Serena Mountain Lodge for check-in. Here, you have the chance to relax and enjoy viewing fantastic game from the lodge. Mount Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and it used to be a shrine and the Kikuyu tribe believe that their god lived there. Game found include elephants, buffalos, stripped hyenas, water bucks, leopards, Bongo antelopes. Mt Kenya also boasts of being a paradise for different species of birds. Day 4: Mount Kenya – Aberdares
Early breakfast and depart for Aberadares National Park arriving in time for check-in and lunch at Outspan Hotel. Transfer to Treetops, your tonight’s accommodation overlooking a salt lick and floodlit waterhole providing spectacular wildlife viewing opportunities. Treetops is a unique, famous and historic property as it is the place where Princess Elizabeth ascended to the British throne in 1952, and has recently been completely renovated in celebration of its 80th anniversary. Game attracted by the saltlick and floodlit waterhole can be viewed 24 hours from your viewing deck and a rooftop platform, it’s an ideal place to capture incredible close-up photographs. Day 5: Aberdare – Nairobi
We depart after breakfast back to Nairobi arriving in time for lunch. Welcome to Nairobi which was once a swampy area. It was founded in 1899 and once on the hands of British authorities during the colonial period is today Kenya’s capital and East Africa’s most cosmopolitan city. Nairobi has been nicknamed as the world’s safari capital in the sense that it is the only place in the world with a wildlife park within its boundaries. From kissing giraffes, shopping, art and culture, dining, parks and green spaces to sport activities, Nairobi is a beehive of activities. Time for optional lunch at the famous Carnivore Restaurant. Mount Kenya Backpackers Safari dinner and overnight.
